by Jasmyne LaBeau
Something lurks beneath the water
Solemn, quiet, but furious
Rippling across her eyes
A familiar reflection in the gaze
Something lies beneath the water
Bedding into her ribs
Haunting whispers asleep against the moss
Something evades beneath the water
Depths of despair a woman can bear
Love is now only a ghost beneath the marsh
